Ignore This Book: Songs of Discomfort is deliberately uncomfortable to read. Why? Partially as an experiment and partially for art’s sake. The intent is to evoke feelings of discomfort. It came out of an uncomfortable time in Catherine’s life. Plus, there just isn’t a whole lot of poetry about discomfort, because no one wants to read it. That’s why it’s called Ignore This Book.Of course, thanks to self-publishing platforms like CreateSpace, Kindle Direct Publishing and SmashWords, it’s now easier than ever to release a book for art’s sake instead of for the sake of the bottom line. Does that answer your questions? Or just raise more? Perhaps they will be answered in the sequel, Ignore This Book, Too: Songs of Comfort.
